Corrections & Source Tips

Help identify the exact issue

A useful correction report includes the page address, the specific statement at issue, the proposed correction and a link to the supporting document. For a case update, include the court, docket number, document date and docket entry number when available.

A public court filing, order or official agency document is especially helpful. Please do not send confidential legal advice, private case files, medical details, financial account information or identity documents.

What the correction process requires

A report should be checked against the cited source and the existing record. If a material error is confirmed, the correction must address the structured data as well as the prose, review pages that reuse the same fact and update the factual review date.

Material corrections should carry a visible note explaining what changed. If the evidence conflicts or a claim cannot be resolved, it should be qualified or withheld while research continues. Submitting a report does not guarantee that the suggested wording will be adopted.

New developments and research leads

A later filing or ruling can change a case’s status. Those reports go through source verification before the record and related pages are updated. A tip about an unverified lawsuit belongs in the research queue until the case identity and material facts can be established.

The contact page shows whether submissions are available. There is no guaranteed response or publication timetable. Do not use this channel to meet a court deadline, serve legal documents or submit a settlement claim.
